The safety of both our staff and children is a priority at Just For Kids in Chicago. Our child care center has been open throughout the coronavirus pandemic as an essential business for our community. Currently, we are still enrolling children aged 3–14 in our child care programs. Our COVID-19 Plan for Children & Staff Members
We have developed procedures that comply with the CDC guidelines to ensure that our staff members and children are safe and healthy during their time at our center. These procedures involve:
- Maintaining 6-feet of social distancing
- Not touching eyes, nose, and mouth throughout the day
- Wearing a face mask at all times (both staff and children)
- Cleaning and disinfecting surfaces that are frequently touched
- Staying home and away from our center if you are sick or have a temperature
- Washing hands often, for at least 20 seconds, with soap and water
- Children who become sick while at our child care center will be placed in an isolation room
Our staff and children will receive daily temperature checks before coming into our child care center.
In addition, we have different personal protection equipment that will help keep children safe, including:
- Children will receive a mask that will be left at our child care center. Each night, we will sanitize those masks and store them in individual paper bags.
- Children will have a pair of shoes to be worn only at Just For Kids so they do not carry the virus, or any other germs, home.
- Children will each have their own dedicated water bottle that is sanitized daily to help reduce the spread of the virus.
If we experience any incidences of exposure, our director will report that exposure while maintaining the privacy of those involved.
Our COVID-19 Plan for Our Facility
Our child care center has been open throughout the pandemic, providing essential childcare services to our community. We are still enrolling children that are three- through 14-years-old in order to help provide the vital childcare our community needs.
In order to adapt to these situations, we have developed different processes that ensure our facility is properly cleaned and sanitized. To start with, we use a special viricide cleaning solution on a daily basis that cleanses the surfaces from coronavirus, along with any other viruses or germs that might be present. We have hand sanitizer located throughout the center for children and staff to use as needed throughout the day.
While we wipe down and clean everything in our child care center on a daily basis, we also have a weekly sanitization process to keep the air clean. As you can see in the video, we go through our entire child care center to ensure that everywhere is thoroughly sanitized and any viruses — including the coronavirus — are destroyed.
